Squeezing out the last drops of Summer!

With the unofficial end of summer knocking down our doors, we want to enjoy those last few
days before our schedules get busier and temps get lower! It's no secret that everyone here at
the United Family loves the casual “island time” approach to life outside of the office, but we
wanted to take the guesswork out of how to really squeeze the most out of the last few days of
summer! Obviously you can head to the beach, as most of you will, to soak up the sun and
allow the breeze to carry your worries away. But, if you'd like to do something different with your weekend, here are some fun things going on in Hampton Roads to kick off fall!

Friday Night:

Head on out to APEX Sportsplex in Towne Center VB and take part in their R&B Glow and Paint
Night! It starts at 7pm. Space is limited and tickets will run between $35-$40 dollars and can be
purchased in advance on Eventbrite. If paint isn't really your vibe you could break out your lawn
chairs and jam out to the beautiful sounds of the Symphony Orchestra at the “ Finally Fall
Fridays” concert series at Mount Trashmore! Starting at 6pm, this event has free parking and
takes cash and card for any purchases at the event. These events will continue every Friday
throughout Fall!

Saturday:

Saturday is the 1st National Cinema Day. In an attempt to get patrons back into the seats of
movie theaters nationwide, participating companies (AMC, REGAL, and CINEMARK) are
offering up $3 dollar movie tickets to all of their showings! Contact your favorite cinema for
confirmation of participation! Or maybe you’d rather spend your day outside. If that’s the case,
and flea markets are up your alley, cruise on over to the Olde Towne Antique and Flea Market
going on Saturday starting at 9 am! Peruse each table's vendor choices and find those amazing
hidden gems that will make your house a home! After a morning of shopping, head over to
Reavers NFK at 4pm for their Boozy Book Fair in honor of National Read a Book Day on
September 6th . Sip your favorite adult beverage while scanning for your next read!

Sunday:

Sundays are notorious brunch days and you can find those just about anywhere in Hampton
Roads. If you're looking for something a little off the beaten path Virginia Beach Winery is
hosting a wine tasting starting at 12pm on Sunday. Sample some amazing whites or pinks to
hold onto the last moments of summer or try a red and find your new favorite fall go-to. The
wine tasting is free with purchase of any bottle! For those less inclined to wine and brunching
and more interested in motor oil and horsepower, Boulevard of Wheels is hosting a car show
starting at 10am down on Virginia Beach Blvd. To round off your weekend, and put a smile on
your face, take a trip to the Zoom Room and take part in their Adoption event starting at 1pm!
Meet the amazing staff and play with the cute pups that will all be up for adoption!
There are so many other awesome things happening this weekend around Hampton Roads: live
bands all weekend at the Oceanfront, Margarita Fest, farmer’s markets and if none of that suits
your fancy, go on a hike down one of our amazing nature trails in the area or just sit back relax
